Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Account Manager based on the East Coast to lead client campaigns, manage media relations, serve as day-to-day client service manager, and drive strategic communications initiatives for our East Coast clients. The ideal candidate will understand the technology market landscape, have a knack for building relationships, and a proven track record fostering teamwork to deliver high-impact PR results. Some expertise in our current tech practice areas preferred, e.g., AI, Cybersecurity, DevSecOps, DevOps, FinTech, Future of Work, Marketing Tech and Enterprise/SaaS.

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple clients, managing day-to-day communications and ensuring PR goals are met.
  • Lead media outreach, build relationships with journalists, and secure media placements in top-tier outlets.
  • Coordinate the creation of press materials, including press releases, bylined articles, case studies and pitches.
  • Manage internal teams to deliver integrated communications strategies and deliverables to clients.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and client deliverables with attention to detail.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff on client accounts and PR best practices.
  • Drive client calls, team planning sessions, end-of-month reporting and invoicing
  • Create, edit and manage content development
  • Conceptualize inventive influencer strategies and drive influencer engagement
  • Serve as a key contributor in new business
  • Cultivate the agency’s sphere of influence with agency peers, VCs, etc.
  • Manage 1-2 direct reports as well as mentor Associates and Senior Associates

Qualifications include:

  • 5-7 years of public relations experience, ideally in the technology sector. Prior agency experience preferred.
  • Proven success in securing media coverage and building relationships with journalists in relevant industries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with digital PR tools and analytics platforms.
  • A team player with a collaborative spirit and leadership qualities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Compensation:

Expected salary range depending upon experience could be: $115,000-$140,000 not including annual profit sharing bonus when applicable.
